The photograph was likely taken between 1940 and 1945, probably in India, by a soldier serving alongside the Byam Shaw brothers. No indication is included in any of the letters to Baddeley or on the photograph itself as to the identity of the photographer. The image is non-commercial and likely does not exist outside the collection.
