This is a manuscript for a play entitled "By Pigeon Post." It was written in 1918 and debuted on stage in the UK and in the USA for several years. The manuscript belongs to the spy thriller genre that was popular during the World War One era. The plot revolves around the French Carrier Pigeon Service during the First World War. The setting is a French chateau near the frontline in 1916. An officer in charge of the pigeon service hopes to convince his superiors of the service's value, but an officer in league with German interests has been sabotaging his efforts. By the end of the manuscript, the pigeons have proven their worth and the spies have been foiled.
