Jungle West 11
Full description:
By Majbritt MorrisonPublished 1967 by Universal-Tandem Publishing (first published 1964)Blurb: Written in her own words, this is the true story of Majbritt Morrison who came to this country from the centrally heated security of Stockholm to marry Raymond, a West Indian immigrant, and live in a cold, damp room in Ladbroke Grove. She moves into a world of prostitutes who hand over their earnings intact to their ponces to buy fast cars and smoke marijuana in the clubs of Notting Hill. To prevent Raymond living on the earnings of another woman who was also pregnant with him, and to support herself and her child while he was in prison for peddling hemp, she became a prostitute herself. Shattered at first by the twilight jungle of Raymond's world, and finally succumbing to it, she became a call-girl and then the hostess in a well known London club. Her true story, in which she omits no detail of the unusual demands of her clients, and the way in which she finally extricates herself . . .
