Full description:
Head and shoulders study of an elderly man with curly hair, full beard and a moustache, wearing a black garment. Sheet bears the E.S.K stamp of the Ecole South Kensington, or South Kensington Schools. Stuck onto original mount on which the artist has signed her name in top right, a third grade prize label affixed to bottom left. A Royal Academy School label is in the top-right corner. The label records class number, student's surname, student's age, register number and stage. Charcoal on wove paper. 73.9 x 54.5 cm.
