Full description:
'Everyman at War. Sixty Personal Narratives of the War' was edited by Charles Benjamin Purdom, and was first published in 1930.The work consists of the personal recollections of sixty soldiers who fought in the First World War (and who were also readers of Purdom's periodical 'Everyman'). The particular work that we would like to use is an abridged extract of the recollections of Sergeant W. Lench, a Canadian soldier who fought at Gallipoli. This features on pages 301-302 of the 1930 edition.
