Black and white First World War photograph showing thirteen St. John Ambulance Voluntary Aid Detachment nurses and one officer preparing for what looks like a more formal group photograph. Individuals are arranged in three rows, with six nurses stood at the back, four nurses with the officer in the middle, sitting in front, and a further three nurses sat in front of them. Photograph is taken outside, probably St. John Ambulance Brigade Hospital, Etaples, Northern France.
